Maureen's Farm

Our wonderful friend/Mom's and Maggie's Confirmation sponsor/spiritual advisor/chaplain Maureen Bausch invited us to her remote and rustic and peaceful farm, complete with chickens, horses, cats, dog, and rooster! When we pulled up the very long gravel country lane, at least eight wild turkeys ran across the road, and Maureen's pup Frisco greeted us like the gentlemanly host that he is. The kitty stole the girls' heart, and the rooster protected his roost like the protector that he is/was. Maureen sent us home with a bounty of freshly laid eggs, pears from her pear tree that she employed the boys to pick, apples, and chocolates too. The kids are begging to go back to Maureen's farm. And I'm pining for the views from Maureen's back porch---the eastern hill with cows grazing; the tall corn and shorter soybean crops; no cars in sight; the cool breeze rustling the grass; and Maureen's reminders of Peace, Love, and Compassion that decorate the house and home. Thank you Maureen for your ultimate hospitality and friendship. We love your farm!
