My most recent trip to Philadelphia coincided with an artist's preview and lecture with/by the talented Sarah Sze at the Fabric Workshop and Museum on Arch Street. Sze's work impressed with its gravitas and playfulness literally embodied in the faux rock formations and the delicate paper trails that provided hyperbolic balance from room to room. Because Sze committed to her Artist-in-Residence stint at the Fabric Workshop prior to being selected as the U.S. artist in the 2013 Venice Biennale, much of her work overlapped with her Biennale presentation (see video below). I am thankful to another Sarah for always allowing me to tag along on her artistic voyages...
